About me

I’m Ronny Schulz, a software architect and technology leader with more than 25 years of experience in software product development.

Throughout my career, I’ve combined deep technical expertise with a strong focus on modern architecture, user experience, and sustainable engineering practices.

I currently serve as Software Architect for CGI’s OpenMedia Evolve, where I design and deliver the next generation of OpenMedia — a modern, modular frontend foundation built with Angular, NX, and AI-assisted development workflows. My goal is to empower teams to build scalable, accessible, and future-ready digital products faster and with greater consistency.

Before that, I led development for OpenMedia, modernizing architecture, introducing Kubernetes-based deployments, and guiding multiple SCRUM teams through an agile transformation.

Earlier in my career, I worked on real-time visualization systems, passenger information systems, and automotive simulation and rendering software for global customers including BMW, Audi, VW, and Deutsche Bahn.

I thrive where innovation meets practicality — designing frameworks, improving developer experience, and finding smart ways to apply AI and automation in everyday engineering.

When I’m not designing architectures or mentoring teams, I enjoy photography, cooking, and exploring how technology shapes creativity.

Why maRShfire?

The name maRShfire comes from a marsh fire — a quiet, persistent flame that burns beneath the surface of wetlands.
It isn’t loud or destructive, but steady and transformative, reshaping the ground it touches.

That image reflects how I approach my work: combining patience, depth, and precision to create long-lasting, meaningful change in software architecture.

It also happens to hide my initials — R and S — at the center of the word, a subtle reminder that every system I build carries a bit of personal craftsmanship and curiosity within it.
